in Norse mythology, the wife of the thunder god, Thor. Sif
In Norse mythology, Sif (Old Norse: [siv]) is a golden-haired goddess associated with earth. Sif is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson, and in the poetry of skalds.
The goddess of the earth, Sif blessed farmers who plowed the ground, and the fields they harvested. It is mentioned in the poems, that Sif's union with Thor was a 'divine marriage'. Hierogamy it is called. A sacred marriage that was destined to happen between a god and a goddess.
Thor was married twice: first to Iarnsaxa and second to Sif. He had 3 sons and 1 daughter from these 2 marriages. He did not kill any of his family. In this respect he is nothing like Herakles who was promiscuous and uncaring towards his wives.
Sif is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Journey Into Mystery #102 (March 1964). She is based on the Norse goddess Sif. As an Asgardian warrior and lover of Thor, Sif often accompanies him into battle.
Sif is the Norse Goddess of Wheat, Earth, Harvest and Family. She is the wife of Thor, the daughter-in-law of Odin, mother of Ullr, Magni, Modi and Thrúd. Sif is introduced as a secondary character of God of War Ragnarök.
Þrúðr (Old Norse: [ˈθruːðz̠], "strength"), sometimes anglicized as Thrúd or Thrud, is a daughter of the major god Thor and the goddess Sif in Norse mythology. Þrúðr is also the name of one of the valkyries who serve ale to the einherjar in Valhalla (Grímnismál, stanza 36).
Jane Foster is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was introduced as a love interest of the superhero Thor Odinson until becoming a superhero in her own right.
Sif has been friends with Thor since childhood, even having a slight crush on him which she's never made known. Eventually, she did meet a romantic interest in an individual named Haldor, though we don't know much about him as he eventually died as a result of being enchanted by Lorelei (Elena Satin).
It makes sense that Jane would then fall in love with him, even if she didn't have her memories of Thor at the time. He and Jane went on to marry, have a son, and then divorce. Thor and Sif attended their wedding.
Eternity creates Love (India Hemsworth) and the father and daughter are reunited once more before Gorr dies. At the same time, Jane and Thor share one last laugh and one last kiss, before she turns to stardust in his arms — indicating that Mjölnir not only transformed her into Mighty Thor but into a god as well.
He knew that Sif's hair of gold was Thor's greatest treasure - and he was determined to take it away from him. And while she was asleep, Loki took his shears and chopped off Sif's hair, every single lovely lock!
Who are Loki's offspring? With the female giant Angerboda (Angrboda: “Distress Bringer”), Loki produced the progeny Hel, the goddess of death; Jörmungand, the serpent that surrounds the world; and Fenrir (Fenrisúlfr), the wolf. Loki is also credited with giving birth to Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse.
Loki also reproduced with his mistress, Angrboda, a jötunn (possibly a troll) who gave birth to three children: Hel, who ruled the eponymous underworld called Hel, Jörmungandr, the sea serpent of Midgard and arch-nemesis of Thor, and Fenrir, the massive wolf fated to slay Odin during Ragnarök.
Sigyn (Old Norse: [ˈsiɣˌyn] "(woman) friend of victory") is a deity from Norse mythology. She is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson.
Thor's wife was Sif, a golden-haired fertility goddess, with whom he had a daughter, Thrudr (Strength). He was also the father of two sons, Modi (Courage) and Magni (Strength), by Jarnsaxa, a giantess, and stepfather of Sif's son Ull.
Magni was the eldest son of Thor and Járnsaxa and step-son of Sif. He is the tertiary antagonist of the God of War (2018) game. Both Magni and his brother Modi and accompany their uncle, Baldur, on his mission to hunt down Kratos and Atreus, with the aim of bringing them to Odin in Asgard.
Love is the daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, whose death by starvation triggered her father's murderous crusade against all gods for forsaking them. She was ultimately resurrected by the cosmic entity Eternity in accordance with Gorr's wish, brought on by Thor's advice.
