How hot is Reflectix?

Does Reflectix keep heat in or out?

After cutting to shape I taped the outside edges of the "Reflectix" with duct tape. The tape has helped to hold each piece of "Reflectix" in place for the last two years. I have found that the glue in "Velcro" tape will melt when applied to the glass in the hot summer sun.
