Are special lessons required in Acellus?

What are the special lessons in Acellus?

Special Lessons are additional lesson plans which are presented, at teacher discretion, alongside regular coursework. These resources provide activities such as science experiments and writing assignments, many of which are teacher graded.

Are the special lessons in Acellus mandatory?

Special Lessons are an important part of our program. These onsite assignments help students develop and improve important skills that are not currently addressed through the online lessons. These assignments count as 5% of the grade and are required.

Can you turn off special lessons on Acellus?

The updated Special Lesson page enables teachers to manage Special Lessons by course, allowing them to turn On/Off any lessons. All assignments that are “On” will be assigned to students as they work through the course. Lessons that are “Off” will never be displayed to students.

How long does it take to complete an Acellus course?

Please note: To graduate through Acellus Academy, students must complete the entire 12th grade through Acellus Academy (minimum of 6 credits) and be enrolled for a minimum of twelve months.

Can you fail Acellus?

If a student fails a step (scores lower than 70%) Acellus will automatically have them retake it. (Students who fail an exam more than 5 times will be moved forward, the system counting the most recent grade.) If needed, students may cancel the retake step once selected.

Does Acellus give you a diploma?

In order to receive a high school diploma from Acellus Academy, students must complete and submit this form along with any transcripts containing transfer credits to be considered, and $100 for review and processing.

What is the difference between Acellus Academy and Acellus homeschool?

Acellus Academy is a private online school that is accredited. It uses the same exact videos and questions as Power Homeschool but your child will graduate from Acellus Private School instead of a homeschool issued diploma.
