“I am really interested in this job because I have always wanted to work with animals, and have never been able to have pets due to working. So working at McDonalds farm would be fantastic for me because I know you allow employees to interact with the animals as much as possible so that they are bonded well when presenting to the public, so for me, it would fulfill both a job requirement and a personal requirement of my life. I would feel as though I had a pet, but at work. I also get on great with others, so being able to show people the animals, teach them about them, and let them interact with them, really interests me.”

“I am really interested in this job because when I was younger I always played with toy buses, I actually came on a school trip to the bus depot and always thought working here would be fantastic. I am really interested in driving a bus now as I have been a taxi driver for several years, and would prefer something that is more scheduled. The idea of getting to know the ‘regulars’ on my route and taking them to their jobs, schools and places of recreation really interests me.”

“Having different KPI’s in this role to my last is what really interests me. In my last job my main KPI was how many clients I enrolled, regardless of value. I would be paid a set commission per client. Your company offering commission at a percentage of the value of the client, is what really interests me, as it gives me a better indication of how much money I am creating for the employer I work for, than just how many people I bring on board does.”

“Having the opportunity to learn a totally new job is what interests me most about this position. Having applied for this position from a completely different background I am intrigued by being able to learn lots of new and interesting things about the sector, and I am ready to learn! I can’t wait to see how all the new systems work, what processes you follow, and show that it is possible to completely retrain for a new career with the right guidance.”

Remember: It’s fine to include targets etc. in these answers, but avoid answers such as “more money” or “more power”.

Good luck
