We recommended using glass eyes because the glass tolerates temperatures up to 1200 degrees without melting. Some of our customers e-mailed that they were having success with using plastic eyes and baking the clay at lower temperatures.

Can you bake Safety eyes?

Don't put resin eyes in the oven. Resin will react to high heat and depending on the materials, can react to sitting out in the sun too long. Put resin eyes in afterward baking a piece.

Can plastic eyes go in the oven?

Depends on the type of plastic the eyes are made from, and to some extent how well they get protected from too much heat (and from any spikes of higher heat in your particular oven) which would include how "inset" they are since the surrounding clay will protect them somewhat too.
